Applications

Please note the following deadlines for filing applications for admission:

For undergraduate programs:
Fall Semester -- November 1 through November 30 of the year prior to the year in which admission is sought.
Spring Semester -- July l through July 3l of the year prior to the year in which admission is sought.

For graduate programs:
Students are admitted for the Fall Semester only each academic year. For Near Eastern Studies and Near Eastern Religions, the deadline is December 15th of the year preceding the year in which admission is sought.

Applicants to the graduate program should note that the Department will make its recommendations on admission applications immediately following the admission application deadline. For this reason it is important that all parts of the student's application, including all college level transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a writing sample must be received by the appropriate office by the deadline. Letters of recommendation should be sent electronically according to the directions in the application. The writing sample should be approximately 20 pages for applicants to Near Eastern Studies or Near Eastern Religions. Writing sample and transcripts should be mailed directly to the department. Late-arriving GRE (or TOEFL) test scores may place the applicant at a disadvantage.
