At present, University policies for graduate students allow most U.S. citizens and residents to establish California residency for tuition purposes after demonstrating resident status. For this reason, students from out of state are well advised to begin to establish a paper record of their presence and intended California residency as soon as they arrive. For information on residency regulations, see the Residency Office.
