Even by the end of the first season,
the amount of geospatial data and the number of artifacts recovered
was already immense and promised to quickly grow even larger. It
didn't take the El Hibeh team long to realize that in order to keep
track of artifacts ranging from the smallest carved scarabs to the
immense temple blocks as well as their findspots, powerful software
was required. With the help of BTG and ESRI, the expedition was
able to purchase ArcView GIS 3.2. Now each artifact can be
entered in a georeferenced database, for future analysis and visual
presentation. To find out more
