Making sense of an archaeological site
that covers more than two square kilometers can be a rather daunting
task. When the team needed to get an overhead view of the
features of the tell and the surrounding desert, one option was to
purchase 1m. resolution satellite imagery from Ikonos. Such data
however can be quite expensive though. Luckily for the El Hibeh
team, Geosciences Management Institute stepped forward and offered to
cover not only the cost of this visual information, but also many of
the other technological expenses the team has met over the past few
